· Grade 3 field trip to Webb Deane Stevens Museums to continue our study of Wethersfield’s history during the colonial times on Friday, December 18th.
Our trip to the Pequot Museum really brought us back in time for a better understanding of what Wethersfield was like long, long ago. Thank you to our parent chaperones! We will review all of our learning as it relates to the Wongunks life in Wethersfield on Monday. This will be your child’s study guide for assessment that will take place on Wednesday.
This week will be a theme week – with most of the activities with centered around Wethersfield’s early history including the Wongunks and the arrival of the Europeans.
We are having fun reading The Hoboken Chicken Emergency, a sort of Thanksgiving story. We will compare and contrast the book version to the movie version this week. Your child will be a real critic after this activity!
BOOK BUSINESS book project is due on MONDAY, November 30th.
We continue our study of measurement. Don’t forget to keep practicing addition and subtraction facts. We will soon begin to explore multiplication and division.
Please have a joyful family day on Thursday. If you celebrate with family over the holiday, tell family stories. (I have sent home a “Family Stories” notice!) This is the theme of our reading unit and I’m sure you child will be interested in hearing great stories. I will have my third graders take home their writer’s notebook. They are welcome to put some ideas down. I will also have each child bring a chapter book home so they can read for pleasure! TRADITION BOXES are also due on DECEMBER 1st.
Happy Thanksgiving! I am sure thankful for my wonderful Charles Wright children!
